While talking to a few of my friends about this blog, one of the continued the ‘something old, something new’ rhyme with “And a sixthpence in a shoe”.

I personally was unaware of this ending but looking into it the sixthpence is traditionally in the left shoe. Was I the only one unaware of this? Also why the left shoe? Because in most religions the left side of the body is seen as impure and in touch with Lucifer.

If anyone knows the story behind this I would love to hear it, did you guys have a coin in your shoe at your wedding?
